Frankie enjoys lounging on my quilts. This one I made of some Halloween fabric that I couldn't resist.

Halloween stuff.

Halloween dolls

It's been a while since I've posted. I am working at Kaiser Oakland Hospital, in Oakland, California. We live nearby in Alameda, right next to the beach. My friend Mary took me on a tour of Oakland today, which was so nice. It helped me get a feel for the area. To me, one of the best things about traveling is getting to get the feel of a city. This whole area is really beautiful, and the weather is fantastic. Here are some photos of what I've been doing lately. I did some Halloween things. Now I'm playing with some mixed media collage, and I'll soon be gearing up for Christmas. The first photos are a Halloween doll done as a collaboration between my Dad and me. He made the head out of paperclay, and I painted it and made the body.

Christmas ornament.

My good friend and I got together today to make ornaments. This is the first one that I did. We painted onto fabric, added batting and a backing fabric, and did some very simple machine quilting. I glued ot onto acetate which had been cut to the shape of the ornament. I then curled it up, and slipped it inside. Then it just sprang open. It was easier than I expected. I got the idea from the book "Tranceparency Art" by Somerset. I am so ready to make some more.
